The Avengers have arrived!

Unfortunately I did not get the chance to see Thor at the theater under its first run.  Good luck to me that on the day that Captain America was releasing to theaters nationwide, our local not for profit community cinema was showing Thor!  So last night my husband and I went down to the super low-priced, awesomely comfortable and reasonably concessioned theater and we enjoyed Thor.  Quite a pleasant surprise it was to us that this was such a masterful movie.  It was beautiful and it was everything that a movie about the God of Thunder should be.

Then today….today we went to see Captain America.  Let me start off by saying that we did spring for 3D to see this one.  It was the first of the comic book/super hero movies we had gone to see in 3D.  We have decided that for our money, we would prefer 2D.  Some of the 3D effects make it almost too much going on at once to catch everything that is going on up there on the screen.  I would love to see this movie again in 2D so that I can compare.  It just did not seem to add enough to justify the extra money.

All of that aside, this movie KICKED FUCKING ASS!  It was brilliant.  I am almost desperately hungry for the next Avengers movie.  I can’t wait to see what happens next.

My husband is one that likes to read up on things and he likes to know what is going on with the movie before he sees it.  He likes to read the gossip and speculation.  I prefer to be surprised.  I LOVE movies.  There is no way around it.  Some movies that others hate, I love.  I love the experience of being in another place and time for a while.

Very rarely is there a movie that I hate, but with that same measure, it is rare that there is a movie I adore.  I have a very soft spot for super hero and comic book movies.  Especially of the Stan Lee/Marvel variety. (I do admit that I am also a sucker for a good Batman movie.)

I do highly recommend that you all see this movie.  I will not give any spoilers in any of my blog posts but will offer my completely honest opinion.  See it!  You will be glad you did!

Until Next Time,

Lucky Star

P.S. Be sure that you always stay until AFTER the credits anytime you see a Marvel movie.  If you are a true fan you know what I am talking about 🙂
